For Homeschool Parents
Looking for a music elective that's more than just fun? Erica studied Jazz Vocal Performance at Cornish College of the Arts and has taught voice and songwriting to students of all levels for years.
Lessons follow a real plan. Students build technique, learn music theory, and grow their skills step by step.
Daytime slots are open on weekdays, which makes it easy to fit lessons around a homeschool schedule. Lessons happen in person on Bainbridge Island or over Zoom — whichever works better for your family.
Erica is warm and patient with younger students (see what Deborah says, above).
For Teen Songwriters
Erica isn't just a teacher — she's a working pop artist. She's released 15+ singles and albums, and spent four years in the studio with a producer learning vocal production and pop arrangement. She knows what it actually takes to turn an idea into a finished song.
In songwriting lessons, you'll learn real tools: chords, melody, song structure. Then you'll use them to write real songs, not just do exercises. Whether you're writing your first song or polishing one to release, lessons are built around your goals and your sound.
For Adult Students
There's real joy and satisfaction in learning to sing well and writing a song that's truly yours. Every lesson brings you closer — a cleaner note, a stronger chorus, a song you're proud to share.Whether you're picking back up after years away or starting completely fresh, lessons meet you at your level and build from there. Come ready to sing better, write something true, and see progress every week.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need experience to start? No. Erica teaches complete beginners through advanced singers and writers.
What ages do you teach? Starting at age 6 up to adults
In person or on Zoom? Both. In-person lessons happen on Bainbridge Island. Zoom lessons work from anywhere.
Can I take both voice and songwriting lessons? Yes — many students do both.
What is my cancellation policy? I don’t offer cancellations. Your spot secures your spot in my schedule whether you are able to come or not. I will try and find a make up spot but I don’t guarantee it.
Can parents sit in? Students learn best when parents are not present. I always encourage parents to come meet me and see my voice studio before hand so they know where their child will be taking lessons. Parents are welcome to sit on the front porch or take a walk in our local park right next to the studio.
What does a Zoom Voice or Songwriting lesson require?
A Zoom voice or songwriting lesson requires a computer or tablet, a stable internet connection, and specific audio adjustments to prevent Zoom from muting singing voices.
Technology and Equipment
Device: Use a computer or laptop rather than a phone for better audio-visual capability.
Internet: A stable connection placed close to your Wi-Fi router.
External Audio: Optional headphones or an external USB microphone to improve clarity.
Second Device: A separate phone or tablet if you need to play accompaniment tracks independently.
Zoom Settings Adjustments
Original Sound: Turn on "Original Sound for Musicians" (or "Live Performance Audio") so Zoom’s noise suppression doesn't mistake high and low singing notes for background noise and cut out.
Microphone Volume: Uncheck "Automatically adjust microphone volume" in your audio preferences.
Physical Environment
Space: A quiet, private room with enough space to stand up and maintain proper posture.
Camera Angle: Position your webcam or device so I can see you from head to hips.
Supplies: Printed sheet music or lyrics, a pencil, and a water bottle.
For songwriting lessons bring your guitar or keyboard
